Nor Cal Fire Lawyers Files Lawsuits Against PG&E on Behalf of Northern California Fires Victims

Lawsuits allege that PG&E’s failure to maintain lines and equipment caused the fires, which decimated hundreds of thousands of acres in Northern California.

NAPA, CA – Danko Meredith, Girard Gibbs, and Corey, Luzaich, de Ghetaldi & Riddle, a coalition of Bay Area law firms known as Northern California Fire Lawyers, have recently filed lawsuits on behalf of fire survivors throughout Northern California who suffered injuries and lost their homes and/or businesses as a result of the region’s wildfires, which began in October 2017. The lawsuits allege, among other things, that PG&E was negligent in failing to properly inspect and maintain its infrastructure and clear vegetation from power lines, which ultimately caused the 19 separate fires to ignite in one night.

Specifically, the plaintiffs assert that PG&E has a long history of safety lapses that caused injury and death to California residents, and damaged or destroyed their property, including at least 16 fires/ explosions in the past 25 years. However, despite that track record and knowledge of significant safety issues posing immediate threats to California residents, the company failed to take proper precautions to prevent future disasters.

“The people of Northern California who lost their homes and suffered injuries as a result of these fires deserve justice,” said Mike Danko of Danko Meredith. “PG&E has a long history of putting corporate profits over public safety and that pattern must come to an end.”

“Northern California Fire Lawyers is a team of Bay Area attorneys that has successfully taken on PG&E in wildfire cases,” said Dario de Ghetaldi. “We are prepared and committed to taking our unique knowledge of PG&E’s systems, policies, and background, and using those tools to hold the corporation accountable on behalf of those affected in Northern California.”
